Services Are Set For Bettus Siems
SNYDER -- Services for Bettus Siems, 76, will be Saturday at 1:30 p.m. in Humlicek Mortuary at Dodge and at 2 p.m. in Emanuel Lutheran Church here. Mr. Siems died Wednesday at his home in Snyder.
He was born Oct. 2, 188, at Ostfriesland, Germany, and came to the United States with his parents at the age of 11. They settled in Hooper.
He came to Snyder in 1901 and was a barber here for 50 years. On July 28, 1909, he married Pauline Dietz. He served on the Village Board and the School Board at Snyder for many years.
Survivors are his wife; a daughter, Mrs. Clifford J. Jorgensen; Onita, of Eau Clair, Wis; four sons, Wilmar of Santa Ana, Calif., Clarence of Columbus, Glen of Snyder, and Myron of Burbank, Calif.; four sisters, Mrs. W. Schouneck of Snyder, Mrs. Matilda Harms of Wichita, Kan., Mrs. Joe Konoski and Mrs. Kazina Byerly of Newark, Calif.
Pallbearers will be marvin Schellenberg, William Harms, Eldon Schoeneck, Arland Schoeneck, Charles Heese, and John Collins.
Pauline died at the age of 75 in 1962.
