MRS. FLORA C. VALLEAU.
Mrs. Flora C. Valleau, wife of John B. Valleau, died at her residence on Highland avenue, Atlantic Highlands, on Tuesday afternoon at the age of 34 years. The deceased has been in ill health for a long time. In fact, for several years she has been suffering with that dread disease, consumption, but up to nearly the time of her death was hopeful and always cheerful. Many warm friends will sincerely mourn her loss. A husband and three children are the surviving members of the bereaved family. Always a devoted wife and mother, sharing alike in the good and ill fortunes of her husband; tenderly sympathizing with her children in all their childish troubles, a link in the family chain has been severed that can never be replaced.
The funeral services were held in the M. E. church at 1:30 o'clock on Friday. Rev. J. B. Haines conducted the services. A delegation from Portland Council, Jr. O. U. A. M. of which Mr. J. B. Valleau is a member attended and presented a beautiful floral cross. The Hook & Ladder company also sent a handsome floral piece and an elegant pillow of flowers was given by the friends. Other floral gifts testified to the esteem in which the deceased was held by the large of friends and relatives.
The pall bearers were Messrs. C. A. Fort, G. E. Jenkinson, F. B. Woodruff and John Oliver. The interment was at Fair View cemetery.
John married second Fannie A. ?? (11400) about 1887. Fannie was born Nov 1865 in New Jersey, United States.
