Virginia Lee Armstrong,
wife of George S. Armstrong, died on Monday, May 6, at her home, 2170 Seventh Avenue, near 129th Street, New York City, at the age of 49 years and 9 months. Death was due to tuberculosis. Funeral services, led by Rev. Mr. Goddell of Calvary Methodist Church, 129th Street and Seventh Avenue, were held at her late home Wednesday evening and the remains were brought to Keyport Thursday and services held at 2 o'clock at the residence of her brother, J. P. Carhart, on Osborn Street. Rev. Mr. King of Eatontown officiated and during the services the hymns, "My Father Knows" and "In That City," were sung by Miss Ruth Huylar, a niece of the decease. Interment was in Green Grove Cemetery.
Mrs. Armstrong is survived by her husband and one son, Chester L. Armstrong, also her mother, Mrs. John K. Carhart of Eatontown, four sisters -- Mrs. B. D. Cook and Mrs. T. E. Huylar of Eatontown, Mrs. D. E. Perry of New York and Mrs. O. T. Conover of Brooklyn -- and three brothers. The brothers are J. P. and Bishop E. Carhart of Keyport and Ralph P. Carhart of Otisville, N. Y.
Funeral Director Bedle of this place had full charge of the funeral arrangements.
