Mrs. Margaret A. Newman died at the residence of her daughter, Mrs. Eber Hubbard Monday night Oct. 4th, in the eighty-sixth year of her age. Mrs. Newman was born at West Greenwich, Conn, on Dec. 11 1800. Her father was a Quaker and her mother a Methodist, Early in life she became connected with the Methodist church and to the time of her demise was very actively engaged in the good work of her church, and thoroughly interested in ail religious movements.
She was married in March 1828 to Mr. Newman who died in May 1875. was an upright Christian woman. She leaves one son, Mr. Geo. Newman of Hannibal, three daughters. Mrs. W. & Titus of Verona, N. Y., Mrs. Dr. N. H. Haviland and Mrs. Eber Hubbard both of this village and a large circle of friends to mourn her loss, The funeral services were conducted by the Rev. W. Dempster Chase at the residence Dr. Haviland on Oneida street at two o'clock this afternoon and the remains interred in Mt. Adnah.
