Fall Injuries are Fatal
WEST KEANSBURG -- Elmer E. Carhart, 88, of 74 Pinewood Avenue, died of a broken neck Wednesday night after he fell from a second story window at his home, authorities said.
State police at Keyport said the accident happened shortly before 10 P.M. Dr. Julius A. Toren, the county physician, gave the cause of death.
Mr. Carhart was born in Middletown, son of the late Gresham and Martha Carhart. He was husband of the late Sarah Thorne Carhart.
He is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Clare Lambertson, here; two sons, Everett E., here, and Russell C., East Keansburg; a sister, Mrs. Eva Voorhees, Keyport; seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Bedle Funeral Home, Keyport.
