Father of Mrs. Walter VanKeuren of Red Bank Died on Monday.
Jacob Philander Carhart of Keyport died Monday after an illness of two weeks due to diabetes. Mr. Carhart was 68 years old. He had been in the retail grocery business many years, but had been retired several years. He is survived by his widow, a son, Harry Carhart; two daughters, Miss Florence Carhart of Keyport, and Mrs. Walter VanKeuren of Red Bank. He also leaves two brothers, Bishop Carhart of Keyport and Ralph Carhart of Otisville, N.Y.; and four sisters, Mrs. Alida Cook and Mrs. Edward Huyler of Eatontown, Mrs. Mattie Conover of New York and Mrs. Florence Perry of Nyack, N.Y. The funeral was held from his home this afternoon. Rev. A. W. Hand officiated.
