The Village of Belford Lost Its Oldest Resident Last Week.
Mrs. Amanda Seeley, widow of Hiram Seeley, died Tuesday of last week at the home of her son, Capt. Newton Seeley of Belford. Mrs. Seeley was in her 91st year. Her last sickness was of short duration. She was a wonderful woman for a person of her years. Until a few days before the end she was able to read without glasses and in spite of her great age she was active and vigorous until recently.
In addition to the son mentioned Mrs. Seeley leaves another son and three daughters. They are Harry Seeley, Mrs. Deborah Chadwick and Mrs. Emma Thiel of Brooklyn and Mrs. Evelyn Baird of Newark. Mrs. Seeley is survived by seven grand-children, twelve great-grandchildren and on great-great-grandson.
The funeral was held Saturday at the Belford Methodist church, of which church Mrs. Seeley was a members more than sixty years. Burial was made at Fair View Cemetery.
