DR. CARHART DEAD.
Well-Known Physician a Practitioner in E. D. Twenty-five Years.
Dr. Edward William Carhart, a well-known Eastern District physician, died yesterday morning at his home, 150 Hooper street, of kidney trouble. He had been ailing for some time and although everything possible known to medical science was resorted to to prolong his life, he gradually sank until he passed away. Funeral services will be held tomorrow evening under the auspices of Merchants Lodge, F. and A. M., of which he was chaplain. The interment will be in the Carhart family plot in Cedar Hill Cemetery, Newburgh, N. Y., on Sunday at the convenience of the family.
Dr. Carhart was born in Dutchess County, N. Y., and was 57 years old. He ????? his training which fitted him for the medical profession in the Albany Medical College, from which he graduated in 1873. For fifteen years he practised medicine at Milton, N. Y., and twenty-five years ago he moved to the Nineteenth Ward, taking up his residence at 273 Keap street. Three years ago he moved to the Hooper street address, where he died. He is survived by his widow and one son, Oscar Carhart. Dr. Carhart was a member of the Medical Society of Kings County, the Dutchess County Medical Society, Merchants Lodge F. and A. M., Long Island Grata, and the Foresters of America.
After Edward's death, Amelia married Peter R. Ogg (8501) on 26 Aug 1926 in Monroe County, New York, United States.
She died in 1959 in Brooklyn, Kings, New York, United States. She was buried with her first husband Edward in Cedar Hills Cemetery, Newburgh, Orange, New York, United States.
