Record of the Will of Daniel H. Carhart deceased. In the name of God Amen. I, Daniel H. Carhart of the Town of Hyde Park, Dutchess County New York being of sound mind and memory, and considering the uncertainty of this life, do therefore make, ordain, publish and declare this to be my last Will and testament. That is to say,
First - after all my lawful debts are paid and discharged, I give and bequeath unto my wife Charlotte C. Carhart, in lieu of dowr, the interest of Six Thousand dollars during her life and if she requires it, she may take from said principal sum for her use one hundred dollars per year during her life, all my household furniture I bequeath unto my wife.
Second - I direct my executrix to sell all my real and personal property; to execute and deliver proper conveyance thereof, and the balance of my estate to divide among my sons Edward W. Carhart and George R. Carhart equally, and the balance of said Six Thousand dollars which may remain after my wife's death shall also be equally divided between my said sons.
Likewise I make, constitute and appoint my said wife Executrix to be executrix of this my last Will and Testament, hereby revoking all former wills by me made.
In witness whereof I have hereunto subscribed my name, and affixed my seal, the 5th day of October in the year one thousand eight hundred and eighty-nine.
