FORREST F. CARHART
Services for Forrest F. Carhart, 86, of 1060 Thirty-fifth St., will be at 9:30 a.m. Friday at Grace United Methodist Church, with burial in Newell Cemetery at Newell.
Mr. Carhart died of a heart attack Tuesday at Iowa Lutheran Hospital after an illness of a day.
A retired employee of the Polk County Welfare Department, he was born in Sheffield and had lived in Des Moines 52 years. He was a graduate of Cornell College and a member of the Waveland Park Masonic Lodge, Antioch Chapter of Royal Arch Masons, Temple Commandery No. 4 and Grace United Methodist Church.
Surviving are his wife, Frances; two sons, F. F., jr., of New Rochelle, N.Y., and George of Minneapolis, Minn.; a daughter, Mrs. R.F. Kanze of Santa Monica, Calif.; nine grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
The family suggests memorial contributions to Grace United Methodist Church.
The body is at Dahlstrom Funeral Home.
