GALESVILLE, Wis. - Kenneth I. Carhart, 79, of Galesville died Monday, June 23, 2003, at Marinuka Manor in Galesville. He was born in La Crosse on Sept. 6, 1923, to Nathan and Amanda (Gjestvang) Carhart.
Ken was united in marriage to Jane Carlson on Nov. 11, 1945. He farmed on the Caledonia Prairie near Galesville for many years. He also was employed as a fieldman by Gale Packing Co.
Ken is survived by his wife, Jane; three children, Susan (Dan) O'Neill of Eyota, Minn., Lee (Karen) Carhart of Galesville and Jill (Mark) Schlifer of Mindoro, Wis.; six grandchildren, Dan O'Neill of Brooklyn Park, Minn., Natalie (Randy) Campbell of Chatfield, Minn., Mandy Schlifer (fiancé Travis Zeman) of Onalaska, Wis., Andy Schlifer of La Crosse, and Molly and Nate Carhart of Galesville; and two great-grandchildren, Dalton and Carissa Campbell of Chatfield.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Miles.
Memorial services will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, June 26, at First Presbyterian Church in Galesville. Visitation will be held at the church from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. prior to the service.
In lieu of flowers, memorials to either First Presbyterian Church or G-E-T First Responders.
It was Ken's wish to be cremated.
