Cecil H. Andrews, age 62, of 2708 Grovelin, Alton, died unexpectedly early today at Doctor's West Hospital, Columbus, Ohio, of an apparent heart attack. He and his wife were returning home after visiting relatives in Norfolk, Va.
He retired Dec. 31, 1969 from Owens-Illinois Glass after 43 years of services as mold design supervisor.
The lifelong resident of Alton was born July 2, 1907 to the late Thomas and Grace Andrews. He was one of the organizers of the Band Builder's Association, a member of Piasa Masonic Lodge, 27 AF&AM, First United Methodist Church and Onized Club.
Survivors include his widow, the former Virginia Carhart, whom he married June 27, 1931; three sons, Cecil Jr. and Daniel of Godfrey and Thomas of Alton; three grandchildren; a brother, Ray Andrews of Alton; and a sister, Miss Verna Andrews of Alton. He was preceded in death by seven brothers and sisters.
