Mrs. Henrietta Armstrong
Lynn, July 5 - Mrs. Henrietta Armstrong died last Tuesday at 5:30 o'clock at the home of her daughter Mrs. Frank Allis. Mrs. Armstrong was born in East Syracuse, November 27, 1847. At five years of age she with her parents, came to Prattsburgh, where she has resided all her life, except the few years she lived in Wallace. On March 29, 1870, she was married to Henry Clarke. Two children, Hattie and Truman were born. Mr. Clarke died in 1891 and her son Truman died in 1899. In 1898 she was united in marriage to George Armstrong who lived until 1906. After that she lived in Wallace. She always was a great worker in the M. E. church of which she was a member. For several years she was president of the Wallace Ladies Aid, as well as taking active part in the work of the W. C. T. U. For the past five or six years she has lived with her daughter because of failing health.
She leaves a daughter, Mrs. Frank Allis of Prattsburgh, a twin sister, Mrs. Harriet Pipe, of Avoca, three grandchildren, Elbert, Leonard and Charlotte Allis, all of Prattsburgh besides many nieces and nephews.
The funeral was held from the home of her daughter, Mrs. Allis. The Rev. Thomas Alty pastor of Prattsburgh M. E. church, officiated. Interment was made in Prattsburgh Rural Cemetery.
