MRS. HARRIETTA PIPE DIES
Aged Resident of This Vicinity Passes
Mrs. Harrietta M. Pipe, 78, widow of the late Rev. James B. Pipe entered into rest Sunday morning, July 18th at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Arthur Cleland, five miles northeast of Avoca, N. Y. Mrs. Pipe had been in ill health for several years and her death was not unexpected. She was burn Nov. 27, 1847 in East Syracuse, N. Y. and was the daughter of Hachaliah and Elizabeth Carhart. Her twin sister, Mrs. Henrietta Armstrong of Prattsburg, passed away two years ago.
In early life Mrs. Pipe taught school until her marriage to James B. Pipe of Prattsburg, N. Y. on February 4, 1873. She has resided in the town of Prattsburg practically all of her life since five years ago. She has been a member of the Methodist Episcopal Church since childhood and has been a faithful christian.
Besides her daughter, Mrs. Cleland she leaves two sons, Hart C. Pipe and Frank B. Pipe of Prattsburg and two daughters, Mrs. Lewis Cook of Avoca and Mrs. George Bull of Prattsburg and eleven grandchildren.
The funeral was held from her late home Tuesday at 2 P. M., the services being conducted by Elder Cole of the M. E. Church of Prattsburg.
