MRS. GEORGE ARMSTRONG
The funeral services of Mrs. Catharine Carhart Armstrong was held at her home on Olmstead Hill, February 13, 1896, and were attended by a large circle of relatives and friends. She was born in the town of Collamer, Onondaga county, N.Y., May 31, 1839, and died February 10, 1896, of heart disease, aged 57 years. At the age of sixteen she moved to Prattsburgh with her parents, Hachaliah and Elizabeth Carhart, and was married to George Armstong in the twenty-first year of her age. There was born to them one son, Frank Armstrong. She leaves a pleasant home, a husband and son with his companion, and four grand-children; the oldest, Erma, was with her grandma most of the time and will now miss her loving voice. She also leaves two sisters, Mrs. Henrietta Clark and Mrs. Jas. B. Pipe. Her memory will ever be cherished as a true wife and a loving mother and sister. Inasmuch as the Great Father has given, let the loved ones pray for the grace of submission to say "The Lord has given and taken away; blessed by the name of the Lord." The funeral services were conducted by Rev. W. E. Serles. Text from Job 16:20, "When a few years are come then I shall go the way whence I shall not return."
