BEACON -- Mrs. Margaret M. Carhart, 87, of 117 North Road, Beacon, died Tuesday at the Highland Hospital, here.
Born in New York City, June 1, 1884, she was the daughter of Peter and Elizabeth (Roth) Fruhauf. Her husband, Frank Carhart, a former justice of the peace in the Town of Fishkill, died Sept. 13, 1944.
Mrs. Carhart had resided in Beacon the last 55 years. She was a member of St. Luke's Church, Tioranda Council, degree of Pocahontas, and Myrtle Wreath Rebekah Lodge.
Mrs. Carhart is survived by three sons, Russell and Warren, both of Beacon, and Frank, Fishkill; a daughter, Miss Isabelle Carhart, Beacon; three brothers, Joseph, the Bronx; William and Edward Fruhauf, both of Long Island; a sister, Mrs. Fred Krowl, Long Island, six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Friends may call at the Hignell Funeral Home, 10 Willow St., Beacon, tonight, 7 to 9 o'clock and Thursday, 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. The Tioranda Council will conduct a service at the funeral home on Thursday at 7:30 p.m.
The funeral will be Friday at 9:30 a.m. from the funeral home, with a service at 10 o'clock at St. Luke's Church. The Rev. Jon Lindenauer will officiate. Burial will be in Ferncliff, Hartsdale.
