FORMER OPERATOR OF LIVERY STABLE DIES
William H. Ternouth, owner of a livery stable for many years on the present site of The Daily Northwestern building, passed away Wednesday night at 10:53 at his home, 68 Northwestern avenue, after a long illness.
He was 78 years of age and a resident of Oshkosh his entire life.
He was born Nov. 26, 1855. He owned the Ternouth Ice company for 27 years and operated a livery stable about 30 years, although not all that time at the same location.
Survivors are his wife, Nina, whom he married in 1898; one son, John, Milwaukee; a stepson, Delos Wetherell, Milwaukee; three daughters, Mrs. Martin Metz, Oshkosh; Mrs. D. Frank, Tulsa, Okla.; Mrs. Edward Thrall, San Diego, Calif., and seven grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Saturday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock at the Konrad funeral home, 103 Waugoo street, Rev. Walter Hall officiating. Burial will take place at Riverside cemetery. The body will be at the funeral home from Friday afternoon to the time of the services.

Mrs. Nina Ternouth Passes Away After Brief Illness. Funeral Wednesday
Mrs. Nina Ternouth, a resident of Oshkosh for 65 years, died Sunday morning at 1 o'clock at her home, 68 Northwestern avenue. She had been ill only a short time.
Before her marriage she was Miss Nina Carhart, the daughter of the late Rev. J. W. Carhart, who invented one of the earliest "horseless carriages," which gained recognition but never reached the manufacturing stage.
Mrs. Ternouth was born in Troy, N. Y., Feb. 23, 1866. Her parents came to this city when she was a child and she had lived here since that time. She was married to William Ternouth in 1898.
She was an employe of The Daily Northwestern a number of years ago when the plant of this newspaper was located at Ceape and Main street. She began as a proofreader and later learned to operate a linotype machine and continued in the employ of the newspaper as an operator.

She was a member of St. John's English Lutheran church and of the Ladies Guild and of the Missionary society.
Survivors are a daughter, Mrs. Martin Metz, Oshkosh; a son, Delos Wetherell, West Allis; two grandchlidren, Mary Jane and James Edward Wetherell, West Allis; two brothers, C. W. Carhart, Duluth, Minn.; and E. S. Carhart, Panhandle, Tex.; and two sisters, Mrs. William Jacobs, Oshkosh; and Mrs. Halle Cross, San Antonio, Tex.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday afternoon at 2 o'clock at St. John's English Lutheran church with the Rev. Edward R. Wicklund officiating. Burial will be at Riverside cemetery. Friends may call at the Konrad funeral home Tuesday afternoon and evening and at the church from 12 o'clock Wednesday noon to the time of the services.
