Mrs. Abigail Emma Carhart, 87 years old, died Sunday from heart failure, after an illness of only two days, at the residence of her son, Dr. William T. Carhart, 376 Franklin avenue, where her funeral services Tuesday evening, were conducted by the Rev. Dr. Herbert B. Munson, pastor of the Nostrand Avenue M. E. Church, Nostrand avenue and Quincy street, of which Mrs. Carhart had been a member for more than thirty years. The interment was on Wednesday morning in Greenwood Cemetery. Mrs. Carhart was born in Jefferson, Schoharie County, New York, on March 24, 1829, the daughter of the late William Taylor and Nancy Rickey. Her husband, Peter Carhart, who died forty years ago, was a business man in Albany, N. Y., and Mrs. Carhart lived in that city many years before coming to Brooklyn, thirty-five years ago. Besides her son, Dr. William T. Carhart, a well-known Brooklyn dentist, Mrs. Carhart is survived by three grandchildren and two sisters, Mrs. Jeannette M. Stevens of Carroll street, Brooklyn, and Mrs. Nancy Rugg of Englewood, N. J.
