Judson S. Reid Dies Following Long Illness
Judson S. Reid, 83, of 200 Freneau Ave., Matawan, died Tuesday, Nov. 19, 1957, following a long illness. Mr. Reid was born in Asbury Park, the sone of the late James and Sarah (Stillwell) Reid.
He was a retired rural mail carrier and had served with the Matawan Post Office for 30 years. He was a member of the First Baptist Church, Matawan.
Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Sadie (Carhart) Reid; two daughters, Miss Evelyn Reid, Mrs. Adele R. Johnson, both of Matawan; a granddaughter, Mrs. William L. Salmon, jr., Matawan, and two great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Friday at 2 p.m. from his home, with the Rev. Lawrence R. Bailey, pastor of the First Baptist Church, Matawan, officiating. Interment will be in Old Tennent Cemetery, Keyport. The Bedle Funeral Home, Matawan, is in charge of arrangements.

MATAWAN - Mrs. Sadie H. Reid, 90, of 200 Freneau Ave. died yesterday in Perth Amboy General Hospital.
Born in Keyport, she was the daughter of the late Henry A. Carhart and Martha Smith Carhart. Her husband was the late Judson S. Reid.
Mrs. Reid, who lived in Matawan for many years, was a member of the First Baptist Church.
She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Adele R. Johnson and Miss Evelyn Reid, a sister, Mrs. Mae Black, all of Matawan; one granddaughter, two great-grandsons and several nieces and nephews.
The Bedle Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
