In the name of God Amen.
I John Carhart of the town of Guilford Chenango County and State of New York being of sound mind and memory and considering the uncertainty of this frail and transitory life do therefore make ordain publish and declare this to be my Last Will and Testament, that is to say:
First, After all my lawful debts are paid and discharged I give and bequeath to my sons Erastus Sylvanus and Frederic seventy acres of land to be equally between them said land is scituated in the town of Guilford afresaid and bounded as follows: on the north by Steven Bennetts land on the West by H. Brandley and on the South Austin O'dell on the East the St. John land it being the same piece of land deeded to me by Noble and Hayes.
2nd, I give and bequeath to my son Daniel and daughter Matilda my old homestead farm containing about one hundred and twenty eight acres of land, together with all of my personal property of whatever name or nature for their own use and benefit to be equally divided between them except two hundred dollars which I give and bequeath to my grandchild Clerence D. Ferris.
Likewise I make constitute and appoint Daniel Carhart of Guilford aforesaid to be my Executor of this my Last Will and Testament by me made.
In Witness Whereof I have hereunto subscribed and affixed my seal this 22d day of April 1880.
