Seems that the Forest Service has renamed this trail to Salida View Trail #95, but old names seem to stick for a very long time! A Gulch sounds a lot more Arizonan than View anyway! So, to get to Salida Gulch, you take the Lynx Creek Ruin road off of Walker Road south of Highway 69. Continue down the gravel road until it ends - about 1 mile where you will find a large parking area.
You first start out on Trail #9253 for about 10 minutes, and then you reach the #95 Trail and can travel the loop either direction. I headed out clockwise, which is the less steep route. It is a very easy trail and follows Salida Gulch for about 2 miles and then meanders along the ridge point for another mile or so before traveling back down to the Gulch.
There are some great views of the Bradshaw Mountains to the South. On a clear day like this one, you can see the mountains near Flagstaff.
The trail was 4 1/2 miles long and took about an hour and a half to complete with an elevation gain of about 400 feet.
Very nice hike - trail is pretty easy and the views are good. Lots of parking and easy to find. I give it 4 boots.
